The Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival is known as the ultimate summer blowout for music fans, but it’s also praised as a sustainable, eco-conscious gathering. With well over 100,000 people flocking to the four-day festival on a Tennessee farm, Earth-friendly plans are a must.
For Bonnaroo 2013, blu eCigs partnered with event waste management company Clean Vibes to roll out the “Cover Your Butts” program. Cans and bottles had been collected in the past, but this year butts became part of the equation. With cool prizes and a clean conscience as motivators, Bonnaroovians were encouraged to collect cigarette butts in quart-sized bags and redeem them for points at the Clean Vibes Trading Post. Points buy food vouchers, organic clothing, band merch and more. And all of the butts are recycled post-festival.
